Karen Love is passionate about mentoring women and young professionals, as her own mentors and sponsors made an impact on her career. As a three-time speaker at Houston Business Journal’s Mentoring Monday, she believes in paying it forward as often possible. Karen has played a tremendous role in the strategic direction of PKF Texas for the past 16 years, and in 2005, became an owner in the firm. Her innovative practice growth strategies and inside-out approach to practicing what she preaches has enabled the professionals at PKF Texas to gain access to strategically key organizations in international Houston. PKF Texas is an award-winning Best Company to Work For and serves as the accountants for the Aggie 100, Cougar 100 and the Rice Business Plan Competition. A mentor and trail blazer, Karen was recognized by Accounting Today’s 100 Most Influential, Marketer of the Year by the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM), and inducted into the AAM Hall of Fame. She also has been named a Woman on the Move by Texas Executive Women and one of Houston’s Most Influential Women by Houston Woman Magazine. Karen is a past Chair of the Executive Women’s Partnership (EWP) at the Greater Houston Partnership and the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Board, and a member of the Rice Alliance Advisory Board, American Leadership Forum Class XXXV, Houston Technology Center Advisory Board and several others. In addition, Karen co-founded the Friendship Factor, a women’s business networking group, with Leisa Holland-Nelson.
